Happy Motivational Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are ready to concur the week ahead! Over the weekend I attended an out of town business conference that was intense. We were up early and had events into the night. Even though I woke up too early and too tired, I drug myself to the hotel gym for a quick workout before the day began. My mind and body were giving me every excuse why I should stay in my cozy nest rather than get up, but I must admit it felt soooo good after the workout.
During the trip I realized just how good a workout first thing can feel. These early morning workouts helped me wake up quickly, even when I was waking up tired. After a few minutes I was feeling wide awake and could feel energy coming back into my body. I also felt a sense of accomplishment.
The early morning workouts helped set a tone for the day. My mind, body, and spirit felt centered. I also had a few minutes to myself to reflect about the past day’s events and focus on the events and sessions ahead. I left looking forward to the day ahead and ready to conquer and accomplish.
These short early morning workouts gave me a bit of a rush. I headed to the shower with the adrenalin kicking. After my workout I felt pride and satisfaction in taking an extra step to take care of myself. At the conference I was feeding my mind, and here was a simple and quick step towards taking care of my body.
Sometimes doing something differently gives us a new perspective. For me, exercising early before the conference did just that. I knew morning was the best time for me to exercise, mainly because that’s the best guarantee I’ll get it in before the day gets crazy. This gave me an opportunity to see just how good I feel after a workout, both mentally and physically. So I challenge you this week to really take note how you feel after your workouts. Notice just how good your body and mind feel after and how far through out the day those feelings carry you.
