Strength training will take you from soft to toned and firm faster than cardio alone. Muscle at rest burns more calories than fat. One way to shorten your strength training workout time and get results sooner is to do complex strength moves. This is when you work multiple muscles at the same time. So rather than just doing squats and only working the legs, you squat and do a bicep curl at the same time.
By doing this you are hitting multiple muscles at the same. This allows you to get more done in less time and therefore shortening your workout time. Kind a like a two for the price of one sale at the grocery store! For this reason I love doing complex strength moves. In addition, they are more challenging which forces me to focus and not mindlessly go through the motion.
